Powder Coating

Kalow’s  new powder coat division is filled with state of the art equipment. It is a batch system that is designed to handle multiple functions at the same time. Our current capabilities include:

Surface preparations:

For jobs that require a more aggressive surface prep we have two sand blast options. For smaller parts we have a cabinet style blast booth that measures 46” x 22” x 20”. Larger parts will go to our walk in sand blast booth that measures 20’ x 9’ x 7.5’.

For jobs that require a good cleaning prior to coating, we have a pressure steam cleaning station. Steam cleaning under pressure with an iron phosphate additive not only cleans but also helps the powder adhere to the surface being coated.

Masking:

Once cleaned and dry, we have a variety of high temperature tapes, dots, plugs and caps to mask your parts. We will review your prints to ensure that all masked areas including threaded holes, insert or studs are covered before coating.

Spraying:

Two spray booths are waiting for your parts. The booths measure 9’ x 10’ x 8’ and 8’ x 8’ x 15’. Our professional sprayers have years of experience and take pride in the art of applying powder.

Baking:

Our oven is comparable in size to our other booths measuring, 20’ x 7.5’ x 7.5’.
